Staverton Park, Northamptonshire
An inspiring championship course with a mixture of lakes and bunkers presents a challenge to any lover of golf. The signature 11th, par 5 is the perfect hole for risk-takers ready to claim a birdie. Then advance to take on the stream, undulating parkland and overhanging trees. This is a mature course with some playful tricks for those who are up to the challenge.
After you've had your fill of the fresh Northamptonshire air take some time out for a sauna, swim or drink at the bar.
For the cautious
The 3rd is a dogleg par 4, you may be tempted to hit a driver over the bunker to leave yourself a shorter second. Beware the water and the copse of trees ahead. The safe shot is a long iron to the bunker, then a mid iron to the green.
For the fearless
The 11th hole is a short par 5, many will tell you to play it as a 3 shotter, take on the stream, the bunkers and the trees guarding the green. This may well be your best shot of glory for the day.
