The Carrick On Loch Lomond, Glasgow
The Most Beautiful Water Hazard In The History Of Golf.
5 Star Society Golf Days from £29 per person.
Designed by acclaimed course designed Doug Carrick, this tournament-standard course features the front nine in the Lowlands and the back nine in the Highlands of Scotland. Offering stunning views across the great loch. The Carrick has played host to the Ladies Scottish Open and the PGA Cup.
The majestic sweep down on to the loch on the 14th is worth the green fees alone. When you're finished, retire to the Claret Jug Restaurant and Bar for their famed cheeseburger and fries or settle in with a glass of peaty Highland single malt.
The Carrick is a worthy part of the estate of Cameron House, a baronial mansion featuring award winning dining, and 5 star world-class spa.
For the cautious
The 4th is very much a safety-first shot - we suggest a 3-wood or a long iron for position from the tee. The green itself has no bunkers to protect it but water by its left more than makes up for this so be careful not to be too bold with the approach.
For the fearless
The second Par 5 and the longest hole on the course offers a treacherous route from tee to green. A brave tee shot will flirt with the bunkers on the left to give a shorter second shot, allowing you to reach the green in the regulation 3 shots.
