Blackpool remains one of the most popular holiday destinations in the UK and it is for good reason. Blackpool's many lively attractions include the golden mile, the famous pleasure beach, Blackpool tower and all the hotels, several dozen clubs and pubs that make Blackpool anything but dull. Blackpool is also home to the UK's tallest roller coaster and biggest glitterball. Recent modernisation of the town and regeneration projects have also helped improve Blackpool's standing as a fun loving seaside resort.

Blackpool began to gain significant popularity as a seaside resort in the late 19th century with the arrival of the railway. By 1893 it was the only town in the UK to have three piers - a considerable feat in the era. Blackpool also helped pioneer the use of the electric tram - which is still running today - all of which add to the town's appeal and keep tourists coming back to Blackpool's many hotels.

Although its popularity as a holiday destination no longer matches those of sunnier climes abroad, there is still a lot to be enjoyed in Blackpool. Its proximity to the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District means that it's possible to use a Blackpool hotel as a base for exploring these amazing areas. For golf fans one of the world's premier links courses at Lytham St Annes , which often hosts the Open, is a few miles to the south of Blackpool - while the many other courses in the area offer the chance to get a few rounds in.

Companies and businesses looking for a conference venue or a team away day destination are well catered for with some of the most modern training and meeting rooms in Blackpool. All of the flexible deals offer free Wi-Fi and top range audio visual equipment in the training rooms, while catering can be taken care of in the restaurant or from the free flowing refreshments dotted around the venue.
