Our Assistant Restaurant Manager, Zaneta Dolinkova, joined the team three years ago as a waitress but has steadily worked her way up the ranks. You'll find her in King's Restaurant, making recommendations from the British Classics menu.

Alan White is our executive chef. He's passionate, demanding and has exacting standards - all to help produce the most talked about cuisine in Brighton.

Our Head Chef believes that the best dishes are made with the freshest ingredients. He constructs our menus around seasonal produce sourced from local suppliers. Bon appetit.

The King's Restaurant

Dine in elegant style at the King's Restaurant. Classic English cuisine, with contemporary touches constantly updated by our passionate and inventive chefs.

There is no better way to start the day than with the full English breakfast, famed throughout Sussex and beyond. Lunch is a la carte, with a choice of inspired dishes, when in season the salmon with raspberries is exquisite.

Much like a grand theatre, the restaurant and its cast of characters delight in dining in true dramatic style - it is a real destination for guests and Brighton residents alike. Each sampling ever more mouthwatering food and lovingly selected wines.

Starters
• Smoked haddock and salmon fishcake with soured cream and mixed cress
• Griddled English asparagus, fried duck egg and Sussex Yeomen cheese
• Pressed Tamworthpig cheeks, belly and Stornaway black pudding, pickled beetroot and shallots
• Three Sussex oysters with raspberry vinegar, shallots and lime
Mains
• Locally caught fish, simply grilled whole with Jersey Royals and green salad
• Local pollock served with chips and mushy peas, lemon and tartare sauce
• Free-range 'Upper Dicker' chicken and mushroom pie, creamed potato and spring greens
• Minced East Sussex Horam lamb, shepherds pie
Desserts
• Rhubarb crumble and milk ice cream
• Sussex honey custard, made from Payne's Southdown Bee Farm, with a sugar crust

True style is always in fashion. Our showpiece restaurant is glamorous, historic and contemporary, with marble columns and an amazing crystal chandelier. The locally inspired menu is a real delight, with food as sumptuous and original as the décor.  

Victoria Lounge, Bar & Terrace

Sit back and watch the Brighton parade swish by from our terrace. Look out over the seafront and as you dreamily sip your morning coffee or indulge with our delightful afternoon Sussex Cream Teas. Beautiful.

Head down to the Victoria Lounge after a lie in, and start the day with a restoring capuccino. Hide behind your sunglasses or a newspaper and pick up on the gossip, it's a tradition for locals to pop in for a mid morning chatter and a quick, light Tiffin lunch of fine sandwiches.

Our afternoon Sussex Cream Teas (rumoured to be the best in the country) tend to be laid back affairs, which can easily slip into the evening. If you are still relaxing after 6pm, ask for the wine list or indulge in a house speciality cocktail. All the while against the gentle tinkling of the ivories, as our resident pianist plays on.

The Grand is the most stunning venue for private events in Brighton. From the moment you walk through the front door into the beautiful reception area, you will know that this is a special hotel. Our attentive staff can help you plan the event and offer advice and suggestions for birthdays, anniversaries and many other celebrations.

We offer a la carte menus for parties up to 10, a set menu for larger numbers.

As the day fades a cast of extraordinary characters starts to assemble - for a meeting before dinner or a swanky night on the town. The resident pianist accompanies the chink of cocktail glasses and the popping of corks - selected from our excellent wine list.
