Grade II listed hotel and venue in Holmes Chapel

Formerly the country seat of the Armitstead family, De Vere Cranage Estate is still very much a rural retreat today, tucked away in a peaceful corner of Cheshire. Designed by celebrated British architect Lewis Wyatt, red brick, warm yellow sandstone, and pretty green lawns wait to greet you at this handsome building.

Here 21st-century style complements the rich heritage of the building; creating an eclectic mix of historic and new. And with a choice of traditional and modern spaces; the house offers a wonderful backdrop for elegant weddings and memorable events alike.

Seasonal eating is a big feature here. Enjoy freshly cooked dishes at the Tempus Restaurant & Bar or soak up the laid-back atmosphere at our outdoor terrace. Whilst upstairs rich décor and stylish furnishings ensure our bedrooms provide a welcome place for relaxation.

As you enjoy the peace and tranquillity, it’s easy to forget the hotel is just minutes from J18 of the M6 motorway, with direct rail links to Manchester city centre and within easy reach of Manchester Airport.

Free, superfast Wi-Fi is available throughout and up to 100m in the grounds.

Excellent stay. Everything was first class. Highly recommended.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and a great choice.

Hotel is in beautiful grounds . Easy access to other places nearby. Staff very helpful and polite

It was a stay in the Lovell suite at the hotel. Well worth the money the room and service was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I woukd suggest if you are not driving .there be prepared for a long east as no taxis in the area.

We stayed here for two nights this week. It is outstanding value for money compared with hotels of a similar standard. The public rooms are beautiful and the grounds delightful. We stayed in a standard room which was quiet and comfortable with a lovely view.

We ate one night in the hotel restaurant which serves good food and excellent service. Breakfast, buffet style is good with a wide choice.

There are little extras like free tea and coffee plus juices available all the time.

The gym is large and well equipped and free to guests.

Last but not least the staff are all exceptionally polite and friendly.

We are going back in a couple of weeks and won’t stay anywhere else in the area.

Ideally located for us driving from London to Keswick to have an overnight stay.

We asked for a family room which was large and comfortable for 4 of us. Good meal in the bar that had plenty of atmosphere.

Breakfast - huge. Delicious. Because we have a dog, the staff took it upon themselves to set our table on the bar area so that dog could join us. Personal attention to details like this is much appreciated. Thank you.

Staff chatty, engaging, helpful, hardworking.

We will use you again on our travels up north in the future.
