Trainers' Club FAQs
Following the sale of 9 open hotels from The Principal Hotel Company to FDM Management; InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) are operating the hotels as part of its luxury and upscale portfolio. Our FAQs below should hopefully answer any questions you might have about the changes to your Trainers' Club membership. But if there's anything you're still not sure about anything you can get in touch here.
Which properties are leaving Trainers' Club and when?
The below properties will no longer be a participating Trainers' Club properties as of 19th March 2019:
De Vere Oxford Thames
De Vere Oxford Spires Hotel
The below property will no longer be a participating Trainers' Club property as of 12th December 2018:
The Principal Grand Central Hotel
The below properties will no longer be a participating Trainers' Club properties as of 24 October 2018:
The Principal Edinburgh Charlotte Square
The Principal Edinburgh George Street
The Principal Manchester
The Principal Blythswood Square
The Principal St David’s
De Vere Wotton House
As of 11th October 2018, Hotel Met Leeds will no longer be a participating Trainer’s Club property. Any enquiries or contracted bookings made on or after this date will not qualify towards your Showtime Rewards benefits and no Trainers’ Club benefits will be honoured.
Any new bookings, at the above mentioned properties, made on or after the above dates will not qualify towards your Showtime Rewards benefits.
What will happen to my existing Trainers’ Club account?
Nothing, your Trainers’ Club account and current Showtime Rewards points balance will remain as it is. You can continue to earn Showtime rewards at participating De Vere properties and can continue to redeem your points through your Trainers’ Club account.
What will happen to contracted bookings?
Your existing contracted bookings at the properties moving to IHG won’t be affected, but your in-house perks such as free use of the gym and coffee lounges all year round will end on the abovementioned dates.
Contracted Trainers’ Club bookings will be honoured at the 9 sale properties including those that operate after the above mentioned leaving date. IHG reserve the right to replace the Trainers’ Club in-house benefits with an IHG Rewards benefit of similar standing.

What happens for any new bookings that contract on or after the abovementioned property leaving dates?
New bookings at the sale properties contracted on or after the abovementioned dates will not qualify for Trainers’ Club in-house benefits and the properties will no longer provide year-round free access to the leisure club facilities and free tea and coffee.
