In celebration of World Book Day (3rd March 2022), De Vere, a collection of historic mansion house estates and distinctive contemporary hotels and event destinations, has today announced a partnership with British publishing house Bloomsbury to launch a new Book Club.

The Book Club will mean guests visiting De Vere’s estates and mansion house properties can loan a book during their stay with a choice of four books to choose from, refreshed on a bimonthly basis to include a variety of recent launches, topical reads, and modern classics.

Launching on 3rd March 2022, the first selection of books guests will be able to choose from includes Greenwich Park, a compulsive, twisty, page turner about secrets, lies, perfect houses and imperfect relationships, by author Katherine Faulkner; The Sunday Times bestseller, A Long Petal of the Sea, by Isabel Allende, set in the late 1930s as a civil war grips Spain; Somebody I Used to Know, a powerful memoir by Wendy Mitchell about being diagnosed and living with dementia; In Control: Dangerous Relationships and How They End in Murder, where Professor Jane Monckton-Smith lays out her research on coercive relationships and detectable signs that lead to domestic abuse and homicide.

De Vere’s mansion house hotels are the perfect sanctuary where guests can get lost in a gripping read, with an abundance of welcoming lounges, atmospheric bars, and comfy snugs to choose from. Cosy up in the Library Bar at De Vere Tortworth Court near Bristol, where soft furnishings and feature walls filled with books combine to create a welcoming, relaxing spot; spend an afternoon in The Library at De Vere Latimer Estate in Buckinghamshire, a secluded spot where guests can enjoy a good book as well as a board game or delicious afternoon tea; or bring along a book to enjoy as your explore the 100 lakes, and vast expanse of rivers, woodland, and open countryside which surround De Vere Cotswold Water Park.

The book club is also available at De Vere Wokefield Estate near Reading, De Vere Beaumont Estate in Windsor, and De Vere Horsley Estate in Surrey.
