De Vere Latimer Estate, located near Chesham in Buckinghamshire, has today unveiled the results of a refurbishment to its contemporary standalone events centre, The Mews.

The first mention of a manor house at Latimer was recorded as early as 1194 AD. In 1331 it was leased to William Latimer and was passed down through the Latimer family until the 16th-century, when it was bought by William Cavendish.

De Vere, a collection of historic mansion house estates and distinctive contemporary hotels​, has donated £560,000 to NHS Charities Together to help NHS staff, volunteers, and patients at the centre of the COVID-19 pandemic.

De Vere has launched two new products, Smart Booker, a new integrated meetings and events booking engine on its website and Smart Base, which offers remote working spaces at its venues.

Nicknamed The Spy House because of its connections with WWII, Grade I listed De Vere Latimer Estate has this week unveiled a £7 million renovation that places the mansion house back at the heart of the estate.
