Two De Vere colleagues win prestigious Acorn Award
Charlotte Karadag, Rooms Division Manager at De Vere Tortworth Court and Alice Norris, Sales Office Manager at De Vere Latimer Estate, have both been recognised as two of the brightest young leaders in the hospitality industry in this year’s Acorn Awards.

The Caterer’s Acorn Awards, also known as the 30 under 30, acknowledges the flair and passion of the most talented individuals in hospitality. Since its inception in 1986, the coveted prize has been awarded to over 1,000 rising stars, with many going on to prestigious careers in the industry. Past winners include Marco Pierre White, Tommy Banks, Zoe Jenkins, Jason Atherton and the current Hotelier of the Year Gareth Banner.
Charlotte has demonstrated exceptional leadership and operational expertise since taking over the Rooms Division in September 2024. Last year, Charlotte also took home the trophy at the Hotel Cateys for ‘Front of House Manager’ of the Year. Building on her success, Charlotte now manages a team of up to 50 staff, oversees Front Office, Nights, Concierge, Guest Relations, Duty Managers, and Housekeeping, ensuring a seamless operation across the hotel’s 201 bedrooms.
After beginning her career at De Vere as a wedding coordinator, Alice re-joined De Vere Latimer Estate as Senior Sales Executive in 2023 and was successfully promoted in March 2024. Alice is now responsible for a team of nine which includes weddings, special events, conferencing, and reservations. Alice was also recognised as Manager of the Year within the whole De Vere hotel group for her outstanding achievements and excellent leadership skills.
Jeremy Pickess, Head of People & Culture at De Vere, commented: “It’s clear that both Charlotte and Alice have made a significant impact at De Vere, consistently demonstrating exceptional leadership, and fostering a culture of growth, development, and recognition. Their commitment to the business as well as the wider hospitality industry is a true inspiration and the whole team at De Vere are very proud of their well-deserved Acorn Awards.”
