Map and text layout row

Home to English aristocracy since the 14th-century, the “Gothic revival” mansion house you see today was built between 1849 and 1853. A grand oak staircase sweeps up and around the double-height reception, leading to some of the finest bedrooms and suites on the estate, with king-size beds, buttoned sofas, commissioned artwork, and beautifully-restored original features.

Your De Vere Reserve experience is apparent inside and out. For glamour and grandeur, check out the Library Bar and 1853 Restaurant: glorious, oak-panelled rooms with a palpable sense of history (not to mention beautiful views of the grounds). Outside, you’ll find 30 acres to explore, beautifully tended lawns, an atmospheric woodland and a notable Victorian arboretum. Further afield, the fascinating cities of Bristol and Bath are 20 and 30 miles away respectively, while some of the most beautiful English countryside – perfect for long walks – is on your doorstep.

We look forward to welcoming you to Tortworth Mansion House, where every detail is considered.
