With so many of us having to forego our Christmas celebrations with friends, family, and colleagues last year, we think this festive season deserves to be extra special. We want to revel in the excitement of the build-up, so we’ve collated the twelve moments across our hotel collection that we’re most looking forward to sharing with you this Christmas.

1 - A roaring welcome

After winding through the rolling grounds of De Vere Wokefield Estate, you’ll arrive outside the White pillared mansion with our stone dogs flanking the old oak doorway. Step inside the marble entrance and be greeted by a roaring fire and the comforting scent of wood smoke. Why not warm your hands while our reception team check you in or perch on the cushioned fireplace hearth?

2 - Healthy competition

If you and your party are looking to add something different to your celebrations, arrive on the morning before your event and take on our driving range at Wokefield. Work on your swing or play a game of aim on a crisp winter morning with your colleagues and friends whilst looking over the surrounding countryside. If it’s adventure you’re after, we have a whole host of team building activities on offer including climbing and outdoor laser quest. After a morning of fun, head inside Benedict’s sports bar for something warming and delicious.

3 - Languish in the library

Nestled in Buckinghamshire’s Chess Valley lies De Vere Latimer Estate. The newly renovated Library, with its plush blue sofas, original wood panelling and stone fireplace, is the cosiest spot to chase away the chill and tuck in to a deep-filled minced pie and a glass of ruby port. Enjoy this warming winter combination whilst you look out on to views of the valley and wile away the afternoon.

4 - A mansion house meeting

Many of our corporate guests like to end the year in style. Celebrate everything you and your teams have achieved with a round-up of your year in one of our luxury intimate boardrooms. Forget faceless grey meeting rooms. The Adam suite at De Vere Wokefield Estate mixes original mansion house features with modern technology. We’ll serve a festive lunch and drinks to set the party mood for your evening.

5 - Champagne in the atrium

As night falls, The Atrium bar at De Vere Tortwoth Court starts to glitter. Indoor trees that rise into the lofty glass ceiling are wrapped in fairy lights, and the surrounding lanterns and candles set an atmospheric scene. Sit at the bar with a loved one or share a table with friends and enjoy a glass of Champagne before your party even begins.

6 - Canapes under the chandeliers

Canapes are a true sign of a special celebration. Before dinner, we’ll serve a mouth-watering selection of small bites with trays of sparkling wines circling the party keeping everyone refreshed. Host the pre-dinner drinks under the glittering chandeliers of the Cavendish Suite at De Vere Latimer Estate with views over the rolling hills.

7 - Private dining done differently

The White house at De Vere Beaumont Estate with its rich history is an extraordinary place to host your Christmas party. And what is a party without good food? Choose from one of our luxury festive menus and dine in the splendour of one of our private rooms. With floor to ceiling Georgian windows, grand pianos and panelled walls, The White House will create a Christmas Dinner setting like no other. If you’re planning a larger celebration, The Chapel creates an impressive setting for a banquet with its original stained-glass window and vaulted ceiling.

8 - Dancing in a glass house

De Vere Tortwoth Court is home to our Victorian Orangery. This Grade II listed conservatory, built in 1874, makes for a truly unique setting for your Christmas celebrations. The stone walls keep it cosy while the beautifully curved glass ceiling offers a window to the winter sky. Catch your breath from the dance floor on the private patio outside and enjoy a glass of something refreshing or take a night-time stroll in the rich green of the arboretum.

9 - Nightcaps to remember

Our bars will be waiting to welcome you after the party, or for the after party. So, whether it’s a calming Camomile tea or a brandy before bed, our bar staff will furnish you with something sure to delight. The towering turrets of De Vere Horsley Estate provide a dramatic setting for a memorable night cap. Here, the cosy wood-panelled bar is as inviting as it is steeped in history. Once the residence of Ada Lovelace, daughter of Lord Byron and a mathematical genius of her time, who created an algorithm for the first computer. Sit and sip as the night draws in and the candles are lit.

10 - The sleep of dreams

When the party is over, sink your head into deep feather pillows and spread out on our luxury mattresses. Our rooms range from the supremely comfortable to the sublime suites. Why not treat yourselves this Christmas to some De Vere luxury? The Kipling Suite at De Vere Tortwoth Court is the grandest in our collection with bay window views over the Victorian Arboretum.
