Q: We love a love story, so please tell us all about yours! How did you meet and what is your proposal story

A: My husband and I met online via a dating app. He is from Canada and I’m from the UK so when we matched neither of us took it very seriously due to the distance, but we both surrendered to the universe at this point in our search and let go of any inhibitions from both our sides. Skip to a few days of talking via the app, we exchanged numbers and both deleted the app. The rest is history from that point on, but we are forever grateful to that higher power that steered us both in the right direction at the right time!

Q: What were your top priorities when choosing your wedding venue?

A: Top priority for us when choosing our wedding venue was to find somewhere that allowed us to have the Hindu ceremony and reception at the same place. We also wanted the venue to be close to where I live as we had a lot of family coming from abroad so logistics of getting everyone to the venue was not an extra hassle we needed. Luckily, with Wokefield, we were able to book rooms for all the family and everyone was on site throughout.

Q: We’re delighted that you chose De Vere Wokefield Estate as your wedding venue, please tell us why you chose us.

A: My sister actually attended a wedding at Wokefield Estate a year before mine. She told me how much she loved the venue and recommended me to keep it in mind when I get married (I hadn’t even met my husband at this point!). So, a year later when everything fell into place with me and my now husband and we started venue hunting, Wokefield was the first place I called for a viewing and we ended up booking the venue on the same day as they had my desired date available – again it was as if it was all meant to be seeing as we started the wedding prep “late” according to the usual planning for an Indian wedding. We really lucked out.

Q: We’re proud to offer a wide range of caterers for our wedding couples, please tell us why you chose your caterer.

A: I have always wanted Ragasaan to cater at my wedding and when I saw them as a top caterer that Wokefield also recommended, it was a no brainer that I would go with them. The food, the preparation and the hosting was done to the T! I still get compliments on how well the caterer and venue worked together.

Q: What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

A: My favourite part of the day was the morning of the wedding when I walked into my ceremony and saw the decorated Wokefield Suite and lobby area for the first time. All of my work I had put into organising with the venue, caterers and other vendors all paid off and it was amazing to see and hear the praise.

Q: How did your coordinator assist in the planning for your wedding day?

A: Our coordinator, Louise, was amazing. It was such a breeze dealing with her; everything was explained with such ease, she accommodated all the things I asked for and was always available for a call and got back to my emails in a timely manner. There was never any push for payments as everything, including the payment schedule, was outlined in the beginning when the contract was drawn up so we both worked together and it was seamless. 

Q: What advice would you give to other couples considering Wokefield Estate?

A: I would advise any couple considering Wokefield Estate to just go for it! You won’t be disappointed. I would advise wedding parties to book the hotel rooms too as family and friends end up making a weekend away out of attending a wedding. “It’s so much fun!” was the feedback I got from my guests.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share about your wedding day with us?

A: All in all, I had the best experience with Wokefield Estate – my wedding far surpassed my own expectations and I am so so glad I chose this venue. To hear the same back from family and friends is just the icing on the cake ❤
